MBox Pro 3 - Powers up, but not recognised by any system
So, my MBox Pro 3 has died it seems. Have been using it for a year or two, then suddenly stops working (no software or hardware changes, didn't even have any inputs connected to it at the time). Still powers on (Power and Spkr light on), but that's it. Doesn't come up in device manager, sound options, Pro Tools, or the MBox control panel. Tried six unique Firewire cables. Tried two Firewire cards, plus my onboard Firewire. No luck. Tried an uncountable amount of drivers/uninstalling/reboot combos. I also tried it on a laptop. No change in behaviour.
It's only ever sat in my clean studio, no bumps or spills. Still looks like new. What's my best course of action? Where can I get it repaired in Australia? Any estimates for how much the repair will cost or how long it will take? Pretty frustrated and desperate at the moment. Any help will be sincerely appreciate. Thanks |

Re: MBox Pro 3 - Powers up, but not recognised by any system
Have you hotplugged it? It sounds like the firewire chip on the Mbox might be fried.
You can contact Avid here: Australia 612-9420-3066 / 03-3505-7957 You will need an Avid Support Code (ASC) that you should have received free when you registered your Mbox. Joel
