Default Lock song to new tempo with beat anchors?

Hey All,

I feel like there is a way to do this, but I can't quite remember the step by step.

Here's the situation:

1) I have a song that wasn't recorded to a click. We're hoping to do some VI orchestration. So, I went through and mapped the tempo map manually by putting "identify beat" markers on the 1 and 3.

2) For the most part, the tempo in the original track is pretty steady, but there's one 2 bar section where it yo-yo's really bad and it really messes with the string orchestration we've got going.

So here's what I'm trying to do:
By setting the tracks to "ticks" and using Elastic Audio, is there a way to use the beat anchors I've put in to conform that 2 bar section to a fixed tempo?

I've tried using the tempo operations to insert a tempo in the timeline across that section. But it doesn't quite seem to be doing what I want to do.

Because the function of the beat markers is to adjust the tempo-- it seems to behave weirdly when trying to do this.

Thank you!

C.

Default Re: Lock song to new tempo with beat anchors?

Sure you can, I do it all the time. Just go to the beginning of the bar, hit the + next to Tempo to the left of the timeline, and type in the new tempo. Then you can delete any tempo markers after that one and the track should conform to the new tempo up to the point where a different tempo marker exists. As you mentioned, you have to be in Tick Timebase (and Elastic Audio enabled, obviously).
