digi002 not working in protools le7 please help me get started

i have a mini mac running pro tools 7 le and it runs great with mbox mini. but when i connect my digi002 it says "protools hardware is either not installed or being used by another program" or it just says " protools unexpectedly quit" with the ignore or restart options.. whats going on here? i tried to download the drivers on the site and they downloaded successfully . still same problem

002 might have a bad power harness, that would cause it not to show up

i got it to show up on the protools hardware playback screen when i open up with mbox mini.. it says digi002 so i know its reading it.. it just keeps saying protools hardware not installed or being used by another program

PT is not reading the hardware. That is the software driver it see so something is wrong with the 002 unit or you have a conflicting driver or the wrong driver.

so even though protools shows the 002 when i turn it on in the hardware screen.. the 002 could still be bad? i did the test on the 002 and all seemed fine.. and the light on the FW cable is on.. and showing in protools so i think its something causing it to crash.. im trying to figure out if its the protools le7 or the mac 10.5.8? or both? or am i missing a driver.?
