Default Hardware not recognized, intermittently

All of a sudden, when I launch Pro Tools LE, I get "Pro Tools hardware is either not present or in use by another application."

The card tests fine with DigiTest.

I just installed a Sonnet Ultra ATA66 so I could connect another large IDE drive as a dedicated audio drive to my beige G3/266.

Could the Sonnet card be a problem? Is there a particular slot that the Digi card likes to reside?

help!

Followup to this--I reinstalled the ProTools software, and it worked, once. then back to the same problem.

I've run into this message, but only after switching the sound output to use Digi hardware instead of the built-in Mac hardware. Check the Sound control panel to see what it's set to.
