Default newbie - quatizing audio tracks

Hey all - I've looked through the FAQ, Answerbase, and manual, but I can only find info on quantizing MIDI tracks. How does one quatize audio tracks?

Thanks

Can you be a bit more specific? What exactly are you trying to 'quantize?" A rhythmic track of some sort? There's no simple way to quantize an audio track. You can separate it into mahy different regions and then snap all of those regions to specific beats, but not simply quantize as you would a MIDI track.

With more information possibly I can give a more specific answer!

I used to use Cubase & on cubase I could highlight a selection of a track, set the snap value & quantize the selected audio events based on the BPM. I generally do this to looped drum & percussion tracks to correct for those annoying little errors.

When I bought Pro Tools I was under the impression I would be able to do this to audio tracks.

Are you saying that I manually have to move indvidual audio events to quantize a drum track? Why can't the MIDI quantize functions be applied to audio tracks?

Thanks

Select your regions ->Edit menu -> Quantize regions.

Think that's what your looking for.

-Although you can “snap” regions to a Grid based on Bars|Beats, audio data cannot be “quantized” in the same manner as MIDI data. If you need to change the tempo or length of a region, you should use the Time Compression/Expansion AudioSuite plug-in.
