I should have been clearer but side-chain delay compensation is a toggle available for the HDX mixer only. It's not just a standard v. Ultimate difference. To me it's a moot point. Getting audio from different sources to play in sync has to be one of the most basic core functions of a modern DAW and there's no reason it can't be implemented in software or that it should be a premium feature. Why would any user expect the side-chain paths not to be delay compensated the same as any other audio path?

some years ago Avid give us the ProTools HD Software and later PT Ultimate. And they told us that these flagship software have all features as HDX (except of AAX DSP)

And in the Description of PT Ultimate is nothing mentioned that ADC is not working with side chain. Thats really a shame. I understand that Avid will give there HDX platform some extra features. But Sidechains that are out of sync is an absolute no go for everybody how produce modern music.

And, hey, side chain is something we do all the time. And I am sure most people don't know that this is officially not working?

And anyway. Whats up with beat sync FXs like LFO tools? They also makes sync problems without sidechaining.

Of course, I have done this, but I really found nothing on Avids Site.
Sorry, I thought you have read this on an official Avid side.

I found it in the Manual of course. But the manual is not a place for features and differences in a product line.

If you make such a big restriction on a important feature it should be clear described on the product page and not only docomented in the manual. not cool IMO.

All 3 PT Versions are clear marked with Automatic Plug In Delay Compensation. I found no restriction on Avids site.
