Default Opening AAF containing .MOV video with new Mac Pro

Ok, so this is interesting.

When using a new Mac Pro and Catalina, has anyone tried opening an AAF file that contains a .mov or .mp4? I know that Avid has done away with .mov and .mp4 files in Catalina, so I'm curious as to what happens. I know about Shutter Encoder to convert standalone .mov and .mp4, but I'd love to know what happens when that video is embedded in an AAF file.

I never use embedded AAFs but as far as referenced AAFs go they only ever contained MXF picture media. Never seen .mov or .mp4.

Is the AAF actually an "embedded" AAF?
Or is there a separate media folder with an AAF document?
