Default Optical Audio From 003 to 192

I've managed to set a master/slave MIDI connection between 2 macs, sending MIDI over LAN from the Pro Tools HD to Native Instruments' Kontakt running as a stand-alone on the slave Macbook Pro. Can't seem to get audio from #2 to #1, trying to use optical digital between the two, and I have the optical selected as my digital outputs in Hardware Setup. Kontakt sees outputs number 00-18 on the 003, but none of those translate to any input on the 192's 9-16 inputs, which are the ones set to digital.

Anyone have any ideas how to do this?

Loading instruments in each Pro Tools session takes too long for my project, so 2 computers seems like the solution. MIDI works great with only four instruments, not sure how it'll go bigger, but I'm trying to exhaust the capacity of these machines before having to buy another.

First of the optical can only send/receive 8 Channels with ADAT format
And only 2 Channels with toslink/spdif/optical (ENC)

So on the 192 use the internal optical for 2 channels
Or the DIGITAL card ADAT input

Hardware setup on the 192 digital format switch to ADAT ( not optical spdif )
Must be the digital card inputs !!!

On the 003 I don't know if it can do ADAT format because
Ch17&18 are typically spdif or spdif optical ( again only 2 ch )

Also need to clock the 2 systems via word clock or a digital input

Hope this helps

For a laptop with standalone apps it may be best to get a express3/4 slot audio card
Or a simple USB to ADAT 8io device instead of the 003 in your case

The 003 can switch its optical port between ADAT or TOS-LINK. Check in the hardware setup.

Ideally put a wordclock between the 2 machines and put the 003 in "WC" as sync source.

Do anyone on the DUC read the manuals anymore?

Geez...

Doooooode, chillout.

This will give you time to notice I said the intent was to sync both machines, also, my comment was directed to the OP.

I don't care for what you think I think beside that Dooooooode.

Cheers!
