alienware: I think were going to find out that most laptops will be able to run pt with usb/firewire. There was some discussion about this before---Since it's firewire/usb it's no SO dependant on chipset---not as much as the pci stuff.

I checked out that alienware system. it's green! lol. Looks cool. it has a 7200 rpm hard drive and I like that. I've been toying with buying mine without a hard drive and putting a 7200 in myself. I'm afraid about battery life though because I will use mine for more than just recording. It just looks a bit pricey.

i think everyone would agree that since we have very few test results in on notebooks, it's good to make sure you can return it if it sucks.

My little 14" Fujitsu works just fine when I use it, and what I use it for. If I do need more room, I can always take along my desktop lcd.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Yeah. Alienware is a little pricey.
I have a friend that not too long ago dropped over $10K on a new laptop and desktop from them. Nice comps, though. P4 3.06ghz, both with massive HD space. Maxxed out ram on both units.

C'mon laptop users, there's gotta be more of you out there, and I'd love to hear what works/what doesn't, your Davec results, etc.
