Davoetta,

You should be okay with your Mac Mini workflow as long as you have a monitor with both DVI and VGA. (DVI connected to E3, VGA connected to Mac Mini via Thunderbolt adapter). Then you can run Pro Tools and VNC side by side and all should run smoothly.

Hmm, i need the Thunderbolt-Ethernet converter for connecting to my router otherwose i cant control the Engine through VNC. Or am i missing something?

oooor you could use an access point to connect wirelessly via vnc, use the Ethernet plug for avb and use the thunderbold plug for the vga adapter ;-)

Yeah shure -or i just could downdrade to 4.1.3 again OR Avid could provide a fix.

Well, not the cheapest workaround, but the new Mac Minis have two thunderbolt 2 ports on them now

No.
And thats not an bug, its an feature of Windows 8.
No chance for a change here and not AVIDs fault.
