Default PT 7.1 \"Closing Session\" dialog

Hi all,
Now in PT7, I notice the Session Closing progress window working away a couple seconds AFTER the edit window has closed and the Finder appears. I've now ginked myself a couple times by immediately opening another session before the first one has closed, since I'm not used to the new Session Closing window and have already clicked inthe Finder.

Is there any reason why the Session Closing window can't do its thing while the session still appears "open", ie: Edit or Mix window still visible, to take care of eager beavers such as myself?

Sorry to be such a latecomer to PT7, I bet everyone else is used to this already.......

We just updated to 7.2 from 6.9 and it's doing the same thing. I don't like it either, but that's how it works. i would like to hear from Digi what it's doing now that wasn't being done in earlier versions...

The reason we put the dialog in was because of a large amount of complaints from users who thought Pro Tools had crashed when they saw the SWOD (spinning wheel of death) when closing a session.

Unfortunately, a side effect of showing the dialog is that any mouse commands while the dialog is up are lost.

We're looking into what can possibly be done to make both camps happy.

Hi Danny,
Thanks for the info. Would it be possible to have the dialog/progress bar doing its thing while the session window itself is still visible?
