Music Note Question
Is there a table or legend out that shows what one note is on another instrument -
For example a table that would show an A being played on Guitar is a C# on Piano * Or if anyone knows if all string instruments have the same notes in common |

Re: Music Note Question
"A" on a guitar is "A" on a piano.

Re: Music Note Question
Okay, so I was a little cheeky there,... anyway, yes, all stringed instruments usually contain e,a,d,and g in either ascending or descending order. The reason the guitar having more strings doesn't follow in order around the circle of fifth's ( b and e instead of c and f) is to make things easier on your fingers. The guitar, as well as all other stringed instruments are NON-transposing instruments, meaning a C on one instrument is the same as a C on any other non trnasposing instrument, such as a piano. The octaves may be different, but the pitch letter is the same. There do exist transposing instruments such as saxophone. Here are a few sites that might help you with those instruments:
A simple description of transposing instruments transposing explained A comprehensive list of orchestral instruments and whether or not they are treated as transposing I hope this helps. -Chris

Re: Music Note Question
Apparently Jorda23 has a limited vocabulary in music as well as English.
