Default Full Screen gone in 12.6.1 on MacOS 10.11.6!!!

just installed 12.6.1 on MacOS El Capitan 10.11.6, upgraded from 12.5.2. Full screen mode no longer works. I click the green button, and it just (vaguely) maximizes the window, instead of entering full screen. (the old style green button behavior, like older OSX versions)

12.5.2 (and before, at least since 12.3 i think) worked fine in this regard.

I've filed a bug report here, please vote for it if you're annoyed by this also!

are others having this problem?

Right click (ctrl click) on the video window. You will see options.

Thanks, but I'm not talking about the Video Window. I'm talking about the edit & mix windows. Used to be that clicking the green button (in the "stoplight" in the top left) would enter full screen mode. No longer happens. This regression sucks for those of us working on laptops, or any small screen...

If I were you, I'd go to Sierra.. No problems on two macs here! I went from Yosemite to Sierra and totally bypassed El Capitan. I also installed over Yosemite with no problems. I think Sierra is a major bug fix for El Capitan.

I prefer this behavior - in a multi screen setup the old behavior was difficult.

You could always get this behavior with option-click on the green button. THere's no way to enter full screen now, for those of us who like/need/want it...

I tried 12.6 with Sierra, and had very strange trackpad behavior — with opt-scroll to zoom timeline (with vertical scroll gesture) or clips (with horizontal scroll gesture), I would get a glitchy, unusable mix of both at once. So I was holding off on Sierra until that was fixed. Not sure if 12.6.1 has fixed this, as i don't have Sierra at the moment...

Anyway, can you confirm that fullscreen works on Sierra / 12.6.1?

thanks!

I am out for a couple of days.. Will try and test it when I get back.. I don't really use a trackpad.. I use a mouse in the studio. Might try it on the laptop when I can.

No it appears to be unavailable in 12.6.1 / Sierra from the zoom button. This old style zoom is handier for quickly filling a 2nd larger screen without creating a 2nd "space" but it's not complaint to current Mac norms.

Two suggestions; one is you can use "Mission Control" to create a new space and drag either the mix or edit window to it which gives you the very same result and allows you to swipe back and forth. Or you can just use command-~ to switch between the two PT windows.
