Default Waves Creative Access?

What fresh new hell is this!!
Waves subscription only.

"Future plugin updates will be available exclusively with Waves Creative Access."

right before they release Apple Silicon versions.

Tell me why I shouldn't be furious!

Yeah. Subscription ONLY from now on.

Its actually a good deal for new people. Not so good of a deal for people like me with two licenses for Mercury that are now stuck at v12 and v14 with no way to update the permanent licenses.

But again, if you are new and don't have any Waves plugins, this is a steal. Instead of buying a couple $29 plugins a month for the next few years to build up your toolkit, you get everything for $24 a month.

Also, as far as I remember, plugins have been Apple Silicon compatible since the introduction of V14.

This is insane. So basically they stopped any updates for their long term customers without a warning, without a grace period. Other companies at least offer a discount for the switch to subscription. The sh*t storm will be gigantic!

IMO this is not a smart business decision for long standing perpetual owners who WUP every year. Especially if you only use a couple of Waves plugins.

You’re now forced into paying for all plugins whether you plan to use them or not.

It’s nowhere near the same as buying a couple of plugins perpetually for long term use.

Bundle owners who paid thousands for Mercury, Diamond, etc, are now out of luck for updated any v12, v13, and future updates.

Gonna have to wait and see the backlash from long time users and bundle owners

I can't see why people are shocked at this. Times change, and the recording software business is changing from day to day. Prices are plummeting. I think we'll se a lot of companies going down or being devoured in the near future.

Out with the old, in with the new. Much of the waves stuff is ready for pension, and people who 'need' them will be able to use them still. We know that free updates and support doesn't last forever, and things pass. It's the way it is.

I just cannot stop laughing. Defence mehanism. First they devalued my licenses from 10k to 5k, and now the licenses are worth nothing. Finally, I don't even need to think about them, what happens next.. subscribing to Waves is just as likely as buying a soviet made car.
