I cannot stand the MMjukebox startup sound anymore. Anyone know where it may be hiding, and if it's deletable?

Thanks, Roy

Within Program files on the C: drive, go to the Music Match directory, then Search for a file called mmjbstart.wav, delete this file and you should be sorted.

Plastik909,

I thank you, my family thanks you, and probably my neighbors, too... I hated that sound. It is now less than dust... a mere memory I choose never to recall a-gain...

De Nada...

I wasn’t a fan of that either – the file is sitting in my recycle bin too.

The strange thing is that the obnoxious startup sound plays fine, then when the MP3 player runs, there's no sound. I have searched high and low for a way to check the output settings or some other means to ensure that the thing is going out to my sound card, but I can't find a way.

Anyone?
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Real Player wants to dominate. If Real Player was good it’d let you not make it the default media player.

This may not be the only way to do this but ….

If you do a normal install of Real Player it becomes the default player, I tried to no avail to turn this setting off but it kept popping up.

So I uninstalled RP. Set the defaults on my other player (make them the default player). Then re-installed Real Player and did a custom install and selected as little as possible. Now it works okay.

Actually MMJB starts up much faster on XP for me. Go figure.

SSurfr/Greg,
Plastik909 is exactly right about RealPlayer. I use it and delete it when it's job is done. But, whatever is your choice, you must go in and disable all the 'player options', etc., of the other streamers in your PC. I keep WindowsMediaPlayer(for CD's and Videos) and MMJukebox(for WAV's and MP3 conversion)... Too many streamers is not good, I've found.
One way to tell which one is 'claiming' your WAV's and MP3's is by their icons. If the wrong player icon is on them, it's time to reset the options.
