Default Digi 003r advantages?

Hi all,

Just a question regarding the Digi 003r.

Would there be an advantage running this as the interface with PT11 as opposed to my MOTU Ultralite MK3?

I know the obvious things like, the 003 has ADAT in/out.

My question really is about the integration with the 003 & Protools…

What are the differences/advantages?

I tried to look for this info already but with no luck.

Thanks guys,

Rosco

My 2 cents only, but I find Avid/Digi hardware holds a small edge in integration. With the 003, LLM(low latency monitoring) will be an option(assuming you need it....I do not). Ultimately, I would test with both and see if one sounds better

LLM is about the only thing I can think of. As soon as pro tools allowed us to use any interface I went shopping. Sold my BLA modded 002 controller and never looked back.

Depends on the interface. If it has a way to set up a monitor mic internally, then LLM is not needed. And most interfaces this day have some sort of way of monitoring the incoming signal before it goes to the daw.

I get ya. So, my Ultralite does the same job. And sounds good too. Only thing I'd want is the ADAT in/out which the MOTU doesn't have. I'd like to get a setup where I can have 16 inputs. (Recording a full band) thanks for the replies folks.
