Can\'t get midi to work
Hi there, I'm looking for any help to get my Bosendorfer 290 working as a plug in. It has been driving me crazy for 3 days now.
First the system..... Pro Tools 6.7 HD , Apple dual G5 2.00, Control 24, 192i/o, Midisport Uno, Korg Trinity Pro Keyboard, Bosendorfer 290. My thinking is that I would be able to play the korg to trigger the sounds of the Bosendorfer Plug in while using pro tools. I can not seem to get the korg to talk to the plug in, even when using the Bosendorfer as Stand alone. I have no experience with Apple computers, but always thought that they were supposed to be the easy ones to use...maybe I'm wrong. So any help in setting up midi to work properly on my system and do what I think it should be able to do...... would be hugely appreciated. Thanks Andy Anderson |

Re: Can\'t get midi to work
Did you setup your keyboard in the AudioMidi Setup? If not you have to do that in order for anything to talk to your Virtual Instrument. Also If your Uno is USB, make sure the lasted MIDI driver is installed by M-Audio.

Re: Can\'t get midi to work
Hi thanks for the help.
I tried the midi set up first of all, and set up the korg.... but still nothing. I am very new at using Mac, and have been using for PC for years.... so I am very confused about everything Mac. I can get the korg to trigger the BFD Drum program no problem just not the Bosendorfer 290 program. Do you think it might just be something stupid that I'm missing due to the inexperience with the Mac G5, it has to be something small that I'm just overlooking. Thanks again if you have some ideas....... |

make sure local control is shut off in your korg utility screen. also make sure it is selected as an input device in the midi toolbar in protools... gary m.vandy audio productions

Re: Can\'t get midi to work
Hi, I'm having a similar problem, except I'm using a microkorg and I can get pro tools to record the midi notes but I cant hear anything when recording or during playback? I'm also pretty new to midi. Maybe someone could help us both with a step by step? I think I've done all of the things mentioned above,
