Default Offline Bounce WAAAAAAY off time

Hi. I'm new to PT 11. I just used offline bounce and the Strike drums were way way off time. not barely, like maybe, but an 8th or 16th. super ridiculous. I didn't bother changing playback settings because i didn't want to get it to a state of not being sure. shouldn't it work right regardless of settings? are there limitations to when you can't expect offline bounce to work right? if so, wouldn't it want me? thanks

Hey Scott

I just set up a session with Strike here and did atleast 10 bounces with different settings in both 10HD and 11HD but all all of them came out as they should. No timing issues or anything else weird. How is your setup!? OS/Computer/drives/versions of OS and PT etc etc

Best
Chris

there is an ADC bug in Pro Tools Instrument using separate multi-outputs with busses and hardware/native/DSP plugs. The bug was reported weeks ago Avid still refuses to acknowledge or fix it.

I am using pro tools 11.02. HDX. 12 x 2.7 core mac. HD IO 16. buffer size 1024. Cache normal. all the midi is on one file and bussed to the strike track which goes straight to the master.

you can hear here: jump forward to 1:00 or so to skip the intro:

Mark was bounced offline
Mark 1 was bounced real time.

can we count on offline bounce?

fyi. i have since offline bounced and it seems fine but what's the point to use offline bounce if we then have to go back and listen to make sure it bounced right?

I also just bounced a song and offline the end of the song added an extra little blip. not there on a real time bounce. lame. i wish the software would error out or something instead of giving me a product and making me guess whether it's usable or not

I've found delay comp must be active for offline bounce even if all sounds fine during playback or during real time bounce.... otherwise virtual instruments will be terribly out of time.

thanks. i do have delay compensation active. the only thing i haven't messed with is Dish Cache. but i doubt that is it. my session is small and on a separate 7200 internal drive

Something I do with any bounce method or recording to another audio track instead of bounce is to select a little beyond the end of the tracks to include any reverb tails. Bounce by itself isn't smart enough to include them so it has to be done manually. I always work with delay comp on. Try this and see if that works.

Anyone ever find a fix to this? Experiencing same thing. Offline bounce, all virtual instrumentals are delayed/way off time on mix..
