massive 002 problems

What the heck is going on? When I first loaded Pro Tools 6, everything was fine. The next time I booted up PT, the Digi waited in standby, and then shutdown with only a few lights on but no response.

I thought there was a command in LE or something to turn on the Digi 002 but there isn't. I booted PT back up and got some updated firmware. It worked once more and then did the same thing, no response.
So I completely reloaded PT, and it worked the first time as it did before. I then exited PT to test it out and rebooted. I didn't get a firmware update message but after PT loaded, my 002 came out of standby with only the welcome message on it. No buttons worked and I could get no response. I could still play the audio signal through it though.

What the heck is going on? This thing is suppose to communicate with PT on the spot. I have connected and reconnected everything.
Any suggestions???

Read the thread called 002 MALFUNCTION!

A bunch of us had this kind of thing going on; we traded our units in (seems they had a bad batch) and all seems to be well.

The only thing you need 'hooked up' is a FireWire cable to your Mac and PTLE 6.0.2.
