Default Computer Lockup

Hi Everyone
This is my first post. I am new to Pro Tools. I have Pro Tools SE & M-Audio Fast Track. I am using it with a Dell srs Premium Sound w/Windows 7.
My computer keeps locking up especially when I disconnect the usb to the M-Audio.
I can't really get started trying to use it with this problem
Thanks in advance for any help

Are you un-plugging the Fast Track while Pro Tools SE is open?

I think that was all that it was. I am pulling out the little hair that I have left trying to learn Pro Tools and I must have been pulling the plug without shutting down pro tools. I usually know better. Thanks

Un-plugging the audio interface while Pro Tools is running is kinda like pulling the emergency brake while driving.

That's how you do what's called bootlegger turns like Burt Reynold's car does in Smokey and the Bandit.

Back on topic: hot plugging/unplugging of peripherals never really works out right even though it's been touted as the greatest thing since sliced bread.
