I bought an officially supported video card (se link below) hoping this might solve the freeze troubles Iv had.

http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...339?popup=true

The card is NVIDIA Quadro FX 580 512MB PCIe video board

Unfortunately I still get the same freezes. So after first buying new ram and now an officially supported graphics card and still having trouble with freezing Im not spending any more money!!

Beginning to think this is bugs in Pro Tools 10 HD and not with my hardware.

I tried to warn you. Sorry to hear that you wasted more time and energy. Avid is aware and this issue is a "work in progress."

Ya, I'd like to see if this resolves Chris' system myself. Do a Disk Image first, or use another partition just for safety if you have to revert. Keep us posted.

I updated to 10.2 befor I went to work this morning. I have not had the time to test it, but I managed to open Pro Tools without any issues.

I will test more when I come home after work in about 5-6 hours.
