My limited understanding of access violations is that PT is trying to read of save information from a memory location that it cant acess..

Have you turned off DEP? That may or may not have an effect.

Have you tested your memory using the Windows Memory Checker or Memtest 86+ ? that should be done.

I have heard of folks having this problem when there memory timings have been off or they were running mismatched RAM. double check your timings.

Plugs, Plugs, Plugs....how many PT problems have been traced back to plugs?. You might want to do a "save as" and copy the session. Then open it minus any plug ins by holding down SHIFT while loading the session. Presumably if the session runs and save without a access violation error with the plug ins disabled it may point to a funky plug.

CPUz is good for checking what your memory timings are while windows is running.

So how do I know if my memory is good or not?

I did the test on the CPU-Z and I'm in the timings, but I'm not sure if it's good :)
