PT12.6HD -9171 errors

Keep getting these 9171 errors.

Ideas where to start?

Open a case with Avid. They told me that changes were made to reduce the occurrences of these errors in v12.6.

...i did a case , regarding 9171 , the suggestion was to use higher buffersizes
( in my case above 512 ) , which is not very helpfull when you want
to record with plugins.......
btw im on HDX , CPU at appr. 2% , nearly only DSP plugins and get this 9171 often in the first attempt in playing back a session , regardless if
100 or 1 track.

Ok - I'll try to open a case with Avid.

In the meantime...

My buffer size is already 1024.

I'm getting 9093 error also - probably same family.

Have you sent both your .ptx session file and .dlog file to Avid for analysis? Do you have any plug-ins instantiated in the sessions where you are receiving these -9171 errors? If so, ask Avid if they can identify which plug-in is implicated in the -9171 error. You may want to then follow up with that plug-in developer and see what they have to say about the error.

Do you have any other applications active when these -9171 errors occur? If so, try to quit as many apps as possible and see if it helps in any way.

As I understand it, these errors are related to audio not getting somewhere within the Pro Tools mixer within a specified period of time. The larger your buffer, the longer you can go until time's up and the error appears. Enabling Ignore Errors During Playback/Record may also help, though I do understand that clicks and pops you may hear are unacceptable for other reasons.

No, haven't sent the ptx file yet. I will save a copy of the session file next time the error shows.

How to I get the dlog file?

I will note which apps are open also when it happens.
