Default Help, pro tools crash on new laptop

Hi everyone, been a while since i posted on here
I recently took the long awaited step of buying my own laptop, and want to use it just for pro tools really. its got an AMD mobile athlon 64 3000+ processor, 256 ram and a 40GB hard drive. theres not much on it other than microsoft works as ill b using it for word processing aswell. it came with service pack 2 already on. i installed pro tools as usual, following all the steps in the book as i did when i first installed on my original pc, plugged the Mbox in, clicked the icon and........... the screen went black and it restarted itself. after it had run scandisk and started back up, i got a message sayin the system had recovered from a serious error. iv tried reinstalling it but with no joy.
can anyone help me?????????

cheers,
rich

What kind of laptop?
Does it have an approved chipset/motherboard?
What version of Pro Tools?
If you're using 6.4, have you installed the SP2 fix in the cs9 patch?

Hi there peeps, thanks for the reply....

all is fixed now
restored my system to factory settings, so as only service pack 1 was installed, and all works fine. so much for service pack 2 beein trouble free on m-box, even the cs9 patch did nothing.

anyways, thanks
