Default DAE Can\'t get audio from the drive(s) fast enough

On my first time bouncing to disk after upgrading to ProTools 7 from 6.92 I get this message:
"DAE can't get audio from the drive(s) fast enough. Your drive may be too slow or fragmented, or a firewire drive could be having trouble due to the extra firewire bandwidth or CPU load. (-9073)"
Curiously enough, I upgraded my other computer and it works fine. I have lots of free space, I have trashed the prefs, and it stops bouncing and gives me this message when bouncing a 3 minute stereo song with no plug ins. I am running Disk warrior at this moment.
Any advice??

OS and PT versions. Computer model and RAM. Are plugs Version 7? Are you recording to internal system drive?

MAC OS 10.4.8
ProTools 7.3
No sessions will bounce (worked fine with 6.92)
I have tried sessions on Hard Drive as well as external GLYPH drive.

If you don't give me the answers, I can't help at all.

Computer model and RAM? Did you check if your plugs were V7 compatible?

Try 7.3.1 to see if that helps. But I think more work needs to be done by Digi. Nice feature set but it doesn't work as well as previous versions. With 7.3.1 on OS X, I get the same performance as version 5, 001 on a machine half as fast.

I am also experiencing the same problem. I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 with Windows 7 64-bit and max memory possible for my laptop. I have the M-Audio Profire 2626 Interface.

I keep getting the following message:
DAE can't get adio from the drive(s) fast enough. Your drive may be too slow or fragmented, or a firewire drive could be having trouble due to the extra firewire bandwidth or CPU load. (-9073)

This problem is driving me crazy. I was hoping this system would be flawless.

Before installation of ProTools a fresh copy of Windows 7 64-Bit was installed just to make sure there wouldn't be any problems on this computer. I was previously using my laptop hard drive until I read a post on here stating it was best to use an external hard drive (secondary hard drive). I replaced my my laptop hard drive less than a year ago and it was the fastest I could find.

I am now using the iomega Screen Play Pro HD Hard Drive.

Please advise a solution as to what my problem is and how to fix it if you can.

Thank you!

You need to start by reading a basic pro tools manual before posting.

What you say is like saying:

'I used to drive my car in first gear on the motorway until someone told me to use 5th.....'
