Playback silence for first 1/2second. & Cant Import mp3's?

Simple issue. Whenever I Import Audio <shift+command+I> I can't convert or import any MP3's through itunes, I can go around and search for the actual mp3 in my computers itunes folder, but used to be able to import that way through PT8. Quick Fix??


BIGGER ISSUE

(in playback) there's a split second of silence before ANY audio playback, as if there is a quick fade before the very first audio waveform. (Or bad compression settings) It also happens if there is more than half-one second of silence in my session. When I try to IMPORT samples of Kicks or Snares (and am simply previewing them in playback) its like they all have fades on the front of them. Its NOT my samples because its doing this to every waveform through into protools, even midi, even the first 'Click' on my click track.

Say I import 4 kicks into PT.. 1st kick (sounds like a fade "woommff" next 3 kicks "punch punch punch")

Please help!!!

For importing any audio file use the workspace tool.
