Default Talkback system.. Got one?

Just curious, does anyone have a talkback system? I'm building my vocal booth and I want to be able to communicate with the the artists without opening the door. So, anyone using one? What are you using? How is it rigged?

you can always set up a talkback with an aux track and an empty input...
we have talkbacks rigged up through the consoles at my work, at home i do the aux input trick.
just set the input of your auxes to the mics you and the singer talk through, and voila...an easy way to talk back and forth.
this does take up two of your mic inputs though....so you may have to consider alternative ideas(check out the Samson C Control).

I have the main outputs of my 002r feeding the samson c-control. One of the output pairs of the c-control is connected to my HA4700 which in turn feeds my vocal both, and guitar room. Remote momentary switch triggers the mic from the desk.

There was a thread about it just last week that a search for "talkback" turns up, as well as a few others.

i just went to radio shack got a momentary interrupt switch, and mounted it into my desk. then i mounted a flush mount mic clip on the desk and tapped the mic cable to the switch. then i can run the cable to my mixer or pt or whatever under the desk and everything is hidden. and the mic is nice and low to the desk. it is just higher than my keyboard so it works out nice.

It's simple. create mono audio track, put mic on your desk, input into audio track, record enable, your mute button is your talkback button. use kick drum mic stand.

it's easier if you use an aux input, that way you arent recording you're talkback, and if you make you're own you don't have to ride the mouse to talk to the talent. also if you have an outboard mixer you don't have to go through pt at all. save on you're cpu usage(as small as it is something), plus staying out of pt allows you to talk to you're talent inbetween sessions or with the system off.
