A Committed track is an audio track. The .cm is there just for you to tell it's a committed track.

Cheers, Drew!

I was about to ask the same thing. My guess is that it will come out on Friday, exactly one week after it was announced. Looks like everybody's excited and dying for it to be released :)

Can Avid add auto punch range bar to PT, similar to Mr.X's Auto punch rage.
This would make it easy for punching in on the fly I find the PT punch a bit not sweet.

Three things is holding me back from using PT vanilla as my number one daw

1: Off-line bounce which is limited to one track per time in PT vanilla."maybe solved with the new commit feature"

2: I need auto punch range just like the one in Logic pro X.
In logic I select my punch location on the punch Red bar with my mouse, hit record from any where on the play head, So easy

3: The apple mouse alt zoom for vertical and horizontal zooming in logic pro X is so smooth, can you code this in PT12

Code 2 and 3 in Pt12 and the purple god shall have my soul.
and make it for vanilla user.

Again asking - is 12.3 Win 10 compatible?

logic pro X auto punch bar

1. I doubt it, but wait and see...

2. Quick Punch mode is your friend!

3. How is this different to using the mouse scroll wheel, in conjunction with alt / alt+shift in Pro Tools (sincerely, I only use Pro Tools, haven't used Logic in eons)?

The Alt auto zoom feature is not very important

But do code in a Auto punch bar just like Logic pro X.
I like PT and really want to commit and use it full on,

When ever I bite the bullet and have a go for takes recording in PT, for this one reason I always go back to logic for my takes and comp so much easier in logic with its auto punch bar and record replace tab.

Most vanilla users are one man band

These are the lil features which makes recording easy for the new comers and one man band.
Member those old school guys with their HD systems is not upgrading.
The money is in the new comers, the young generation.
Make things spicy and sweet and you shall have them all in you purple pot for the takings.

Please do see what you can come up with for the auto punch bar.
Code it for vanilla. Thanks

PT already does this, and has since the 90s.

You simply select the area to punch, turn on pre/post roll (option click in the timeline to do so) and hit the 3 key. Takes approx 2 secs. PT will play during pre roll, record during the selection, and play during post roll. And if Quickpunch is enabled, you were actually recording the entire time and can adjust the clip boundaries after the fact. It's a brilliant system and has been in PT for decades.
