In PT for Win the Mix window does not float. Instead of maximizing PT on a single screen, stretch the main window across both screens, filling both of them. Then place the Mix and Edit windows however you like.

It's not the same as having a floating Mix window, but functionally it's almost the same.

I use dual monitors, and I've gotten comfortable with doing it this way in PT. It bothered me a lot at first, now I don't even notice.

Never had this issue when I was on Windows (which was as late as PT 10). Try purchasing Skootch from Bob Nagy. Not sure it he ever released the 64 bit version.

I run 3 screens here. EDIT window is on top(32" screen), MIX window below(27" screen) and the third screen is a Dell 24" off to the right. The Dell hosts Transport, System Usage meter and certain plugins I want up all the time. The PT "parent" window is only filling the first 2 screens
