Default 003 Inputs Not Working

I can't get my 003 inputs working. I am hooked up to a Mytek ADC which is connected to my Mac via lightpipe. So normally I track audio through my mic pre then to the Mytek - record as an ADAT track(s). But if I plug a mic into the back of my 003, for instance input 1 and select analog 1 as my input, I get no signal. I have checked the input/output settings, set them to default, etc., but still can not get a signal when going straight into the inputs of the 003. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You leave no info about your system other than Mac, mic and 003. We need more info to be able to help you.
Meantime, a couple things to check would be:

- Is your 003 input 1 set to "Mic" (not Line/Inst)
- Does your mic require phantom power, and if so is it turned on (on your 003)?

sorry... my system is:
mac OSX 10.5.6
2x2.8 Ghz quad core intel
memory 8 GB 800 mhz DDR2
protools 003 LE, version 8.0.1

On the front of my 003, I have the mic/DI button lit on all 4 inputs, and yeah, i'm just using an SM58 to test the signal so no phantom power required.
I went to default settings on the current session, plugged into input 1 in the back of the 003, input in pro tools is "analog 1" but can't get a signal.

thanks for any help!

This is confusing. What program are you using to record? If its Pro Tools, then you cannot get signal from the Mytec into the lightpipe input of the computer. The audio must pass thru the 003(the Mytec should work fine on the 003 lightpipe input). For inputs from the 003(1 thru 4) try the Mic/DI switch in both positions(only 1 position will work). If you still get nothing, take the mic and cable to the local music store and test them to make sure they both work. If they do, then maybe the 003 is broken.

From the 003 setup guide:

Quote:
If using the 003 or 003 Rack, press the Mic/DI switch (located on the top panel of the 003, and on the front panel of the 003 Rack) for the corresponding input so that it is in the Mic (unlit) position.
Lights off!
