recording issues with 001 and 6.1

hey all,

I'm having some problems with my 6.1/001 setup... it goes something like this... When i hit play on the transport (after arming it and record enabling a track) the transport doesnt record. i see the stop button light up mometarily just before this... the same thing happens when i hit F12 (except faster) I'm using protools 6.1 with an 001 on a p4, 2 (something) gig with 640 ram. Out of 8 or 9 tries the transport will respond the way it is supposed to maybe once... I'm at a loss and hope that someone is familiar with the problem i'm refering to... any insight is appreciated... thanks in advance

Rail just posted this somewhere else a few days ago: Set the Open ended record allocation preference to 10 minutes.
Also, are you using a seperate drive for audio?

Have you checked that your network card is disabled? I had the same problem and when I disabled the network it worked.

guys... firstly... thanks for your prompt responses

yep i'm using a seperate drive for the audio files... though the problem remains irrespective of where i put them

ummm.. as far as setting the open ended allocation time to 10 minutes.... how would i go about doing that?

the system i'm using is not connected to the inter or an intranet so i'm guessing that the net adapters would be disabled anyway right?
