Default Scrolling Display Stalls during record

PT 9.0.3 on OSX 10.6.8 Mac Pro HD system. Just started yesterday. Also getting occasional -9162 errors on startup. Restarts seem to make this (-9162 errors) go away.

Could this be a fragmented drive? or is there any reason related to system or PT settings that would cause this?

As I am recording or playing back, the scrolling display freezes for a second and continues. No audio is interrupted or lost, just annoying. Any clues would be helpful I record to an internal SATA drive that only has PT sessions on it. My boot drive comes up OK in Disk Utility, but did start displaying some strange issues with Mobile ME syncing which now seemed to have stopped.
