Default Pro Tools 9.0.1 Crash when loading

I had Pro Tools 9.0.1 running for two days but then I made one change in preferences. I selected to organize plugins by name and manufacturer and then I got the color wheel. I have not been able to get pro tools up and running since. I have just about tried everything, clean uninstall, reinstall, but I cannot get it to work. My last resort now is to go back to Pro Tools 9.0

Here is part of the last crash report

Was trashing preferences amongst the 'everything' you've tried?

Yes but that didn't work either. What did finally work was repair disk permissions.

I had a problem with PT 9.0.1 not finishing it's load stalling at Checking Peripherals and forcing a Force Quit. It turned out, I had turned on Spotlight to do a search earlier in the day. Spotlight, while indexing a drive, seems to stall pro tools launches. Just putting any media drive in the privacy column of the Spotlight pref panel will solve that problem, but this may not be what you are experiencing.
