Pro Tools 10.3.6 HDX & PT 11HDX using Mac Lion

Bottom line - new Pro Tools HDX DOES NOT WORK with iTunes (basically core audio applications)!!

I have for the past week now been trying to install, uninstall, reinstall Pro Tools 10.3.6 and PT 11. After many tries with the iLock debacle (What were they thinking?) I finally got both installed. Once I got them installed and configured I noticed that iTunes and Quicktime no longer produced any sound. Forget about getting support from Avid. Avid gave me a 30 day support coupon but the site Avid's site directed me to DID NOT WORK!! So I called my vendor Sweetwater who gave me an immediate answer - until Avid chooses to fix this issue it DOES NOT WORK with iTunes or Quicktime!! The work around is to change your Mac System Preferences>Sound to Built in Line Out from Avid HDX every time you switch applications. Definitely a hassel but at least not dead in the water!

Also, I'm still using 10.3.6 as my go to PT DAW because all of the AAX plugins that are supposed to work with 11 that DO NOT WORK!!

Sure hope they get this fixed ASAP!!
