Default e Windows 7 can't recogniz Mbox 2 and can't finish Protools instal

How do you get a brand new windows7 XPS laptop to recognize an Mbox2?

I have been at this for days and there are just so many different tips and tricks that all need to be done in the right order or with the right windows 7 compatibility mode, with the right software update and drivers, etc. I AM SO STUCK.

I have protools 8.0 on my other windows vista laptop with this mBox2 but now want to set everything up on this new computer.

What is the correct order and software versions to install to get it to WORK?!

I tried installing my protools 8 disk. Once I start up the software, it doesn't recognize the mbox2. Tried the several drivers for the mbox including the 8.?Beta drivers. tried the 9.02.65 USB Mbox family of drivers and still... no lights ever turn on. I have installed with drivers first. uninstalled, Reinstalled with drivers AFTER, but still nothing works. Looking at my devices, it showed Mbox driver installed and working correctly. Protools software says no devices plugged in.

What do I install. In what order. Do I need to right-click "change install compatibility" and then "run as administrator"?? If so, which version of compatibility do I choose- vista? Vista w/service pacs? or XP?

Every time I run Protools, am I supposed to run as administrator?!

HELP!!!!!!!!!

Win7 needs PTv8.04 or higher to run.

Install v8.0 (full installer) with the Mbox switched off. Right click the Setup icon and 'Run as Administrator'. Once that's installed download and install v 8.05 (updater only), mBox still off and again 'Run as Administrator';

When that's installed, reboot with Mbox switched on.

If still not working, re-install Mbox drivers with it switched off then reboot with it switched on.
