Thanks Musicman, JoelG for getting me straightened out on terminology.. So, my
Control Surface'll be the Qcon Pro-X at this point. The Interface is what I'm looking into now.. The MBox 3, the USB variety looks good to me since the Firewire isn't an option with my Lenovo ideapad 320.. and the DAW is Pro Tools 12.5.. Thanks again guys.

You can't buy an Mbox new because as I said Avid killed them off. It'll be a used piece.

I use a Focusrite Clarett 4Pre. I've had no latency issues and they claim that one shouldn't have latency issues with their gear for whatever reason. Mine's a thunderbolt 2 interface but they just started making them with USB interfaces. I've nothing really to compare it to BUT, I was never able to record audio to a Windows based computer without mega problems (latency and various driver problems) that no one could solve so I'd record to a stand alone DAW of some sort (had several Tascams, couple Zooms) and mix in Cubase on Windows.

IDK what it was with me and Windows but we never ever played well together.

Bought a Macbook Pro last May and Protools and now my issues are restricted to not having enough money for the VI's and plugins I want. ;-) Except for one issue I just had when I upgraded to PT 2018.1 and High Sierra that the good peeps here had a fix for when I checked. Great folks with great help here!!!

Just my .02.

Macbook Pro (Mid 2015)
Quadcore i7 2.2Ghz
16GB Ram
256GB SDD (122.08GB free)

Focusrite Clarret 4Pre
Arturia KeyLab Essential 61 Key Controller
Arturia V Collection 5 and Analog Lab 3
Bunches of Waves plugins
Superior Drummer 3 (not happy with 'em)
Addictive Drums (not happy at all with 'em)
Yamaha P-150 and EX5
Roland VR-09
Moog Sub37TE
M-Audio Keysyation 49

Yup, I should have put "DAW Software"..
