Adjust every edit at the same time
Hello, I have chopped up my drums, grid aligned them, and used beat detective to fill in the blanks and fades. I find if I slide the edit to slightly before the drum hit, it sounds better.
Is there a way to move every edit, say 100ms forward, all at once? Thanks. |

Re: Adjust every edit at the same time
Highlight all the clips you want to move, change the nudge value to 100 ms, hit the minus key (-) on the number keypad. Everything highlighted will move 100 ms to the left. If you want them to go to the right, hit the plus (+) key on the number keypad.

Re: Adjust every edit at the same time
The clips are exactly where I want them, what I want to do is use the trim tool to move the "splice" between each clip forward 100ms. All at once. This would be a monumental time saver for me.
Thank you so much. |

Re: Adjust every edit at the same time
I don't know of a way to do exactly what you want to do. But I know an easy work around that will get you the exact same result.
Set the nudge value you want to move the edits by. Then select all the audio you want to adjust the edits on and press "cntrl -" The minus must be the minus key on the numeric keypad. You will see the audio all shift to the left by your nudge amount while maintaining the edits exactly where they are. Next, press the same minus key again and it will shift all of the audio back to the position it was, but the edit will move to the left and will result being early by whatever you had set the nudge amount to. Hope that makes sense and does it for you.

You could either redo all you slicing etc with that in mind, or try redoing your fades. . Delete all your cross fades, then select all the regions(clips) again, select "fill & crossfade" and enter your 100ms figure there. . Try that first mate.

Re: Adjust every edit at the same time
If the splice is in the same location on each track, couldn't you group the tracks and use the trim tool to move the edit point?

I use tab to transient to slice each hit, then slide them to the grid. I’m only using the fill and cross fade aspect of beat detective, so I can’t let it put the space before the hits. The tracks are grouped, I’m trying to make the same edit adjustment on the entire song. Thanks so much everyone. I shall report back with my success. |

Well, I would suggest redoing the xfades as I posted.

OMG. You are my hero, I can't thank you enough. Works great. I did run into a hiccup, I'm on windows, so "ctrl -" didn't work as described, so I kept hitting different keys plus the minus key, and it's the Windows key plus the minus key for the first move. |
