Default ilok sharing between 2 computers

So I was thinking when PT11 comes out and the new Mac Pro, I'm probably going to take the pervious Mac Pro and throw my old HD3 system in that and load up PT 10 (or 9) HD in case I need to open old sessions using RTAS or TDM plugs that will never port over to AAX or AAX DSP.

My though is that IF IF IF Avid gives us a bundle license where would could run PT10 or PT11, but the licenses have to obviously stay on the same ilok, do you think that this: http://www.smartlogicltd.com/products.html (look at the first product "SmarterX-USB-2") would work so I wouldn't have to pull the ilok from one mac, put it in the other etc.....

I'm not violating any licenses here, not looking to run two systems at the same time blah blah blah so please don't bring that up.

What do you guys/gals think?

Obviously the new Mac Pro would have to be backwards compatible for USB2... or I could throw a USB3 pcie card into the current Mac Pro.

I hate to say it but there already is USB sharing via network and virtual USB ports on slave pcs. I haven't tested this, but I wouldn't be surprised if iLok hasn't already built in protections against this.

What about using the USB part of a KVM switcher?

Don't know, but I thought a KVM switcher switched everything including the USB.

Well yeah, but switched. The USB device would still only be connected to one at a time.

The USB server/client emulation would allow all clients to use the one port at the same time.

Reread his post. He's not trying to run them at the same time. That would of course be against the EULA.

So his post states. That may be what he really wants to do, but read the first bullet point at the link he posted. That product is designed to share concurrently.

Defiantly not interested in running two at the same time. No use for that whatsoever.

I'll look into the KVM switch.

Thanks!
