Hi !! im new here !
Hi !
Im new here i just have a question about recording snare . Because the guys that i record ..ever use hard rimshots on snare and everytime i end with a little attack snare with poor body in the mix ! My question is : On this days of modern rock is common to play and record the snare with clean shots and still gettin good attack ?? Or its have to be the with rimshots ? Thanks |

Re: Hi !! im new here !
sadly, today it's more common to replace or add a sampled snare using drumagog or sound replacer.
i personaly don't like it but hey, if it does the job.... another thing is trying to change the way the drummer hits the snare and get a fuller sound on tape.

Re: Hi !! im new here !
depense on the style, the song and the arrangement.
useally a rim shot comes at a place you want to accent like the end of a musical sentance or on a breake. but some aggresive styles use only rim shots all the way. there are no rules here. do what feels right for the music.
