PT5.01 shows 1622 interface with 16 Outputs?
Digi,
We have one 888 connected to a Mix Core, and a 1622 connected to the Mix Farm card. Under the I/O Labels, I'm only able to set the Input labels for the 1622. There doesn't seem to be a way to label the two outputs of the 1622. Also, the both the mix & edit windows show 16 outputs for the 1622. What's happening? |

Re: PT5.01 shows 1622 interface with 16 Outputs?
Pro Tools 5.0 (and I think 5.0.1 as well) has problems properly recognizing the 1622 I/O due to the fact that it has a differeing numbers of inputs and outputs. The only workaround is to rename the invalid outputs of the 1622 I/O with a "-" or something similar so you don't confuse yourself in the middle of a session. Although I am not positive, this problem should be resolved in PT 5.1.

Brent,
That's the problem. Unless you know of a way to separately name the Inputs and Output labels of the 1622. At the moment, that's not possible. |

Re: PT5.01 shows 1622 interface with 16 Outputs?
At this time (it will change with 5.1) you cannot seperately label the inputs or outputs of ANY type of interface connected to a non-core card.
So anything you have on a farm will not serpate the ins and outs out for naming purposes. I have a similar setup at home and I found it more desireable to put the 1622 up top and the 888 down on the farm for this reason. You still won't be able to seperately name the ins/outs of the farm-mounted 888 but at least you won't get confused by having named outputs in your pop-ups that don't have corresponding hardware on your interface. It's a limitation of all 3.x, 4.x and 5.0.x versions of Pro Tools. -Bryan [This message has been edited by TechSupt (edited September 19, 2000).] |
