Default I/O Setup shows only 2 inputs

Hello.....thanks in advance for your time. I have been Mboxing for awhile and have now purchased a used 001 system. I have installed and have things up and running. When I attempt to assign an input to a particular track I only get 2 choices.....in 1, or in 2. Where are anolog inputs 3 thru 8 (and the other sources)? They don't show up.

I have been to the I/O Setup window and see the 001 (Icon/Picture) appearing in the top window. I can see that inputs 1&2 are displayed, but the rest of the filed is empty. No 3 thru 8, and others. Scoured the Ref Manual.......How do I locate them and bring them in (turn them on)?

Just so ya know......I installed Version 5.1, and then upgarded to Version 5.1.1, and then chose to install the Beta Version 5.2.1 that delivers 32 tracks for 001. Really was hoping all those extra inputs would be right there to select, but looks like I have overlooked something.

standing by....
Ping

In the I/O setup, look for something that says "Default". it will then re-set the I/O setups to show all available I/O paths.

Wow! You are right. Now they show up. They look like stereo pairs (3-4, 5-6, 7-8). How do we change them to individual mono inputs....ole' buddy...ole' pal.....?

You don't need to do that.

Right, they are mono pairs into stereo. in the output or input fields on the tracks you can choose wheater or not you want to use mono (say output is only to "out 2" as opposed to "out 1-2") It's simplified this way, so if you want to do stereo, the setup is available without having to open prefrence panes.
