Default Help with Best Mac Purchase???

I'm getting ready to purchase a new Mac. I'm coming from the PC environment and was wondering if I could get some feedback as to getting the biggest bang for my buck!

I have a digi002 rack. I'm looking at utilizing all 32 tracks for a self-done recording project. I've been working with ProTools for around 7 years now, but am "coming to the light" as far as Mac vs PC. :) Use to build my own Windows based machines.

I'm thinking iMac. Any spec suggestions, trusted vendors?

Thanks!

Mac user here. I was on PC "drugs" for a long time until I did the Mac 12-step program to rid my system of the disease of being a PC junkie. but all jokes aside, the Mac is the way to go for a number of reasons. Most notable is less hard drive crashes due to pop-ups and bugs that litter the PC. I use the Mac Pro Quad Xeon dual core with Intel and it hauls....ass....period. I've only had one crash since I bought it and that was only because I was so "giddy" when I got it I was pointing & clicking like a madman and it got hung on an application and gave me the lock-up
"color wheel", but otherwise I've have no problems and my work gets done in hours and not weeks trying to re-boot, defrag, update, and catch headaches meddling with the PC I had, which I ran Steinberg Cubase btw.

So not only am I new to Mac, I'm new to Pro Tools, and it feels like a breath of fresh air after being
suffocated with the PC/Cubase combo for the last 8 years. *whew* So glad that nightmare's over!!!

So I say Go Mac all the way. Mac Pro, iBook, etc. way more bang for the buck.

good luck.

An iMac is a good place to start. If money is no option look into the MacBook Pro 17 inch and an extra screen or the MacPro. Both have greater expandability options than an iMac. But and iMac now is very powerful anyway.

You can buy from Apple online or retail or any Apple Authorised retailer. What country are you in?

The Mac journey is sweet! Enjoy :)
