PT 7.1.1 Stopped Opening.. Does now BUT only from new "USER"

Please help. I've exhausted my brain. Macbook Pro, 15", 21.6GHz, 1GB 667 MHz RAM. Pro Tools LE 7.1.1 - Original Mbox, OSX 10.4.9.
I had been using this macbook and PT with no problems. Today I tried to open PT. The icon bounced for a second in the Dock but PT would not open. It won't open still. Here is everything I did:

1) I was using 7.1.1cs1. Thought that somehow became an issue so I reinstalled 7.1.1 without uninstalling first. That did not work.
2) I tried moving the Mbox between the two usb ports and shutting down and restarting. Nothing.
3) I uninstalled PT with the ' simple clean ' method and reinstalled it . Still would not open.
4) I went through every step in the General Trouble Shooting thread.. (This included removing preferences and folders and doing a full clean uninstall and reinstalling)... I even did the last step.. I created a new user named 'Pro Tools'. I logged out of my usual log in account name and attempted to open PT as instructed. That finally worked. So.. PT is now working, but only when I'm logged into this new and unwanted user named 'Pro Tools'. As of now.. if I log back into my usual account.. Pro Tools will not open. If I log back into the new user "Pro Tools".. PT works.
a) Why is this happening?
b) How can I get back to normal status of simply being logged into my usual 'user' name, being able to run PT and not having to have this new user 'Pro Tools' set up?

PS - The only other thing I read that I thought I could do was instal the 10.4.9 Combo upgrade which I did not know I was supposed to do. I am currently downloading that to both my Macbook and G4 imac PPC, but I feel certain that is not part of this problem.

Only the 10.4.9 Combo Updater will work with Pro Tools. If you had checked the compatibility of 10.4.9, you would have seen the Digi warning.

I think many users have learned that they should wait to upgrade the OS until they know it will work with Pro Tools. I wait to see reactions at places like Macintouch.com before upgrading. And of course checking with Digi.
