Any idea as to the easiest way to hook up 27” Apple Cinema Displays (not tbolt) to the HDMI port of the mini?

DVI and HDMI are compatible so it is just a matter of buying an overly priced adapter. If you need to connect TB/DP display to HDMI then you need a converter like this.

27" LED Cinema Display (which I assume is meant here) is mini DisplayPort not DVI.

Maybe the question could be asked clearer "What display adapter do I need to go from HDMI on my late 2018 Mac mini to the mini DisplayPort on my 27" LED Cinema display. Or am I better off with a third party USB-C to mini DisplayPort adapter--which one?"

That’s exactly what I need to do...

...ok now you clarified your question I’ll throw this out.

I do not own a Mac Mini, so take this with that knowledge.

I would start with looking at a USB-C to Mini DisplayPort adapter/cable ... USB-C alternate DisplayPort support (at least on these Macs) means it’s a relatively simple problem to go from the DisplayPort data on those connectors to the right shaped plug. This is strictly *not* a part of Thunderbolt 3 (which yes also used USB-C connectors, and also does display stuff, ...)

HDMI needs more sophisticated signal conversion to DisplayPort, adapters will cost more and I suspect likely to be more problematic.

Ironically DisplayPort is the “native” graphics link protocol supported on that Mac Mini motherboard, it actually converts on the motherboard from that to HDMI to drive its HDMI port.

See this article for a discussion on USB-C to DisplayPort adapters for the Mac. https://www.macworld.com/article/316...pters-you.html

Ok, thanks man! I’ll check this out! It might just be better to get new HDMI 32” screens for the various locations where this mini is going...

Another quick question...Apple tells me that because of the new T2 chip, it’s not possible for me to boot from a USB stick/Mojave install that I’ve made (which I’ve used many times to install on several 2012 MacBook Pro machines with zero issues). They said I can only install from the Internet...which seems bizarre to me.

My connection at this time is slow, and would probably take several weeks to install if this is true...is there any other way to get Mojave on this computer right now?

New build from MINI?

That's a drag. Just made a boot stick for Mojave (cMP) Both MINI and nnMP are the builds of the day for Macers.
