Re: New Mac Pro (7.1)
Having trouble making the switch to the new Mac Pro, today. No matter which PCI slot I try, PT doesn't recognize the pair of HD I/O's connected to the HDX1.
I'm running PT 2020.5 on a 16-core system with Mojave 10.15.3. I've tried PCI slots 2 and 5 as well as 4, double-checking cables and connections, changing the playback engine at startup, trashing the prefs as well as a number of system restarts. Everything was working smoothly on my previous rig just moments before. Thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! |

Yes, that's what's got me scratching my head. First thing I checked.

What does it look like in Apple menu > About This Mac, then click the PCI Cards tab? (Click on Expansion Slot Utility) Apologies if you’ve been there.

Clutching at straws here but I’m wondering if the HDX card is getting enough power from the PCIe slot to register in Expansion Slot Utility but not enough to pass in Digitest. I’m assuming Expansion Slot Utility is showing you have enough bandwidth? My HDX card came with three power cables. The one with the mini 6 pin (2x3 pin) connector works fine and should be long enough for any of the PCIe slots you’ve tried. Mine is plugged into the topmost power slot on the motherboard. In case you’re using it, you don’t need the Belkin AUX Power Cable Kit. Beyond that I’m baffled I’m afraid.

I was wondering about that, too. I opened the chassis while powered up to have a look at the lights. All were powered up. As far as cables go, I'm using the original AVID cable. It's plugged in to the Mac Pro's 5-6. I'm not a newb to setting up PT rigs for my studios. This one's got me stumped. |

Re: New Mac Pro (7.1)
Check to make sure the card is fully seated?
At this point, it might be helpful to take pics of the inside. -which power connector -cables connecting the power I can’t think of anything else. Any photos might help us see something out of the ordinary.
