So where will this leave those of us who already have purchased multiple Atmos Renderer licenses?

Still with multiple Atmos Renderer licenses? The integrated renderers in DAWs aren't anywhere near as full featured as the dedicated Atmos Renderer app.

Details would be nice on all of this, but I'm sure we will know soon.

It's still in alpha stage. The built-in renderer is fairly simple. You can set a speaker layout and that's about it. Currently up to 7.1.4 but it will go up to 9.1.6. No array mode or speaker calibration. There is a new tab in the IO setup for object channels instead of a checkmark in the bus tab. Switching from internal to external renderer is simply a switch. There is a 5.1 re-render for stuff like loudness measurement and I think some headphone options. This is aimed at Atmos editorial. For mixing/mastering you still use the external renderer or RMU. The workflow looked very simple and more intuitive.

Other IBC update, the ARA RX module is only spectral repair. I think only the attenuate and replace options, but maybe I didn't notice the 'pattern' and 'partials+noise'. The spectral repair module has been removed from Audiosuite since RX4 and always needed the external application so it's nice to see this implemented within Protools.

No licenses are needed, both come with Protools, IIRC one comes with 'intro' and one starting at 'studio' but I can't remember which. I think the release of the Atmos renderer is projected at q1 next year or earlier if possible and the RX module q4 this year. This is not official though, the official statement is "we don't know". But it is not 2023.9

And some other big news for Ultimate users coming this month, not confirmed though so we'll see.
