anyone got experience with outside sound noise level restrictions and readings
Hi.
Im doing a live outdoor front of house sound in a park in the UK with 2 live bands and various PA's (Matt Cardle, D'ream, Blue) and i received this info below regarding the noise level restriction! I did question the figures but was told they are correct were using a 20k Nexo system and expecting up to 5000 people. their sound level figures seem impossible. looks like they are reading A-weighted and i assume RMS. anyone had similar experience with this type of event and situation? this is what I've received from the environment officer of the local council... Please find attached a copy of the assessment and calculations previously done that suggests the level allowed at the front of house enclosure was 85 dB(A). This assumes 82 dB(A) from each of 2 speakers and that a level of 73 dB(A) at the nearest residential property is acceptable. This is the very highest range of acceptableness, however I do note that the majority of properties along Broad Street will experience lower music noise levels of around 66 – 67 dB(A). Such levels were deemed appropriate as I understand music finished at 2300 hours on this event. Chris
