Default Can't Get To A Lower Buffer Settings

My question is: do I really need to get that "Siig firewire card" that's referred by DigiTechSupport as the compatible one? I'm having a hard time getting to 256, 128 and 64 in the buffer settings.

If you search this forum you will find that unsupported firewire cards have been suspect in errors to vast to recall, including difficulty with lower buffer settings. But without knowing your system it would impossible to know whether or not your problem will be solved entirely by this upgrade. If you follow the "help us help you" and "general trouble shooting" stickies, and post a Sandra report, you will get better answers.

I'd say YES. For $35, why cheap out? I had huge problems with my onboard firewire on my Asus P5K, because it's not a Texas Instruments chipset.

Eliminate your firewire chipset as a possible problem and just get the SIIG card. $35. You can do it!

I know that before I got my SIIG card, I got crackling problems recording anything, and lord knows what else I would have found if I didn't go straight to Newegg.com and order that card.
