trouble using keyboard as midi controller for GPO
I am new at midi. I have Garritan Personal Orchestra. Installed fine on Mac OSX. 002R with keyboard midi out to midi in on rack.
Setup midi track and aux tr as per instr. from GPO web site. works fine from GPO software, but no comm. from keyboard. I have it setup and identified in midi devices under audio midi setup, "virtually plugged" into the 002R input 1. Midi thru is checked, and the only thing I can think of that might be the problem is that the keyboard is incompatible. Is this possible? Help please! |

Re: trouble using keyboard as midi controller for
Did you record enable the MIDI track? You must if you want to get any response on the MIDI track from the keyboard.

Re: trouble using keyboard as midi controller for
Yes, I did record enable the midi track. I know this from using BFD. I even tried setting it up like the BFD plug in, but of course it's a different animal, software only.

Re: trouble using keyboard as midi controller for
I'm a little confused; GPO is software only as well, isn't it?
You're not having a problem with the GPO software; correct? You can produce sound from it's software interface? The problem you are having is getting your external MIDI keyboard controller functioning? That's the base problem; GPO has nothing to do with it, correct? To help you solve your problem, we're going to need more information;

Re: trouble using keyboard as midi controller for
Thanks for the reply. The keyboard is a Casio LK-73. The midi light on the 002r does not light up. Could it just be the cable? it is brand new never used, came with the keyboard, and it has paralleled into it PC plugs like for a printer.
There is only one standart midi input on the 002r of course. Maybe it's not exactly set up correctly in the midi setup? I do have the virtual wires connecting from the keyboard to port 1 of the Digi. gord |

YEs the GPO software works fine keyed with the mouse on it's own virtual interface.

Re: trouble using keyboard as midi controller for
I figured out the problem. My keyboard mode switch was not o the right setting to start. I had to set it to "full range chord" to get it to come thru and get the full range of the instruments. I also picked up a better midi cable. It works fine now.
Thnks for your time! Gord |
