882 problem, no sound, please help

I hate these "please help" post, but I am out of any idea what is wrong with my setup and hope that there is anybody out there who can help me.

I have just assembled an Protools III system. Anything seems to be fine. The only problem is that nothing comes out of the 882 interface.

I connectet and setup all as described in the protools installation guide. Protools launches very well and I can do what I want. I connectet my keyboard (ensoniq KS32) to the 882´s input 1 and 2 and the outputs 1 and 2 to my PA. Now when I play the keyboard there is nothing to hear and no "signal present" led´s light up at the 882. I try some clicks and settings in protools with no change.

Next I try the calibration tool from protools utilities folder.

When I check the inputs it shows up values from -3db on some channels up to -30db on others. Then, when I click the signal generator radio button at the outputs side all "signal present" led´s light up at the 882 but still nothing is to hear, absolute silence.

Only when I turn on/off the 882 interface some plops and crackles come out the PA.

Whats wrong? Is that interface damaged? Or have I do anything wrong in the setup?
